Marathokampos West of Marathokampos is the Pythagoras cave (350m). According to the legend there is where the philosopher found refuge from the tyrant Polikratis of Samos. Access is easy from the Cambos, following a 2-3 km earth road. After they leave the car have to walk 200 meters on the slope to the cave.
Ano Vathy is a beautiful neighborhood, and is considered one of the oldest settlements of Samos and deserves to visiting for the excellent architecture of the buildings. An excellent example of post-Byzantine architecture is the church of Ai Giannakis, which is built on the hillside above the town of Samos.
