Profile Description
There were at least four temples of Hera and according to Herodotus is must have been one of the largest in ancient Greece. Owing to the myth, the Goddess Hera was born and raised here. Part of the organization of the sanctuary is also the Sacred street, covered with large stone slabs, which leading from the ancient city of Samos, Pythagorion today, in the sanctuary.
